A beautiful set of six vintage Australian-made dining chairs featuring sculptural curved backs, tapered timber legs and wonderfully retro avocado green velvet upholstery.
According to the original owner, these chairs were purchased alongside the matching extendable dining table and were made by the same furniture manufacturer in Preston, Victoria. Unfortunately, we have been unable to locate a maker’s mark or label, so the manufacturer cannot be confirmed.
The chairs have a wonderfully simple mid-century profile, with fully upholstered curved backs that flow into the seats and warm timber frames beneath. The original green velvet is such a great colour and has a lovely soft sheen that changes with the light.
All six chairs are solid, sturdy and comfortable, and present beautifully as a complete set. The upholstery and timber show some light signs of age and use consistent with their vintage nature.
